Gen6 technology

A networking technology that provides the connective fabric between applications and critical infrastructure devices. It is fully interoperable and backward compatible with Gen5 technology and prior mesh generations, enabling smooth integration of next-gen devices into existing deployments. With significant advancement in cellular integration and distributed intelligence (DI), Itron’s Gen6 network focuses on UtilityIQ as the universal head end. Critical infrastructure devices supported on the Gen6 network are endpoints that are DI NIC-enabled, cellular, or EFC+-enabled, including Itron Cellular 500G and 500W Modules, Itron Riva SL, TL, and RL Electricity Meters, Solar Battery AP (SBAP) devices, and Gen6 versions of Itron network gear.
